In the case of a dispute, the matter is taken to a full meeting of the elected Board of Governors.

 

The Emergency Committee (or EMCO) meets to deal with pressing issues that cannot wait until a full GENCO meeting.

Role:

Crisis Management

Unbudgeted emergencies

Consultation with school leadership team

Bridging communication between Leadership Team and GENCO

Confirmation of Leadership's decision regarding the appointment of post level one teachers.

In the case of a dispute, the issue is taken to a full meeting of GENCO. If it cannot be settled there, the elected members of the Board will meet in order to achieve consensus.

 

The Management Committees (or MANCO'S) function as small sub-committees of GENCO. Their aim is to deliver on the decisions made at GENCO. They may co-opt members to fulfill a particular function or task.

 

Role:

Following up directives given by GENCO

Ensuring that proposals approved at GENCO are carried out effectively

Providing a full report to GENCO regarding the activities of the MANCO

Liaison with Principal and Leadership Team

Functioning within budget

Liaison with parent community

Researching and presenting proposals to GENCO
